Therapeutic Parent Support

Child Play Therapy

Adolescent Creative Psychotherapy

“As a parent, I felt like I was getting to see inside my child’s mind, getting a better understanding of their behaviours and emotions and what might be triggering them. By gaining this insight, it has led me to be more compassionate and deepened my connection with my child and we’ve been having more positive and meaningful time together. There are still tantrums but I understand them more and am better able to deal with them and my little boy responds better when he feels acknowledged and understood.”

How the Process unfolds

  1. I have recently expanded my practice and some availability is currently open, email me to enquire: theheartfeltguide@gmail.com
  2. During an initial phone consultation we explore what’s been happening for your child and family, and how I might support you.
  3. We first begin with therapeutic parent support, as I support you support your child or teenager at home.
  4. Then child or adolescent therapy is introduced and parent support sessions continue with periodic sessions.

“Isabelle really levelled with me as a parent and normalised the hard moments we had as a family while also giving some really insightful feedback, she brings humour and warmth to difficult conversations.”

Is This For you?

  • Are you worried about your child or teenager’s emotional wellbeing or simply sense that something isn’t quite right for them?
  • Are you unsure how best to respond to your child’s needs at the moment?
  • Finding what has worked before in your parenting no longer seems to fit?
  • Going through difficult changes, challenges, or transitions as a family?
  • Has your child or family experienced difficult or traumatic events?

“We were really struggling when we reached out for support from Isabelle and while we had heard of play therapy we didn’t realise that part of the process was parent support. But spending time really thinking about what my child was trying to communicate through their behaviour and starting to recognise the part I was playing in the difficulties we were having at home led to big changes for my child and of course for us too. Highly recommend.”
